IMO it's no huge sustain loss and like you say the trapeze style probably is better for a ringing sound. I've not added one to a Casino but in generall Bigsbys are known to shorten sustain a bit.
Does the Bigsby dampen the tone at all? Thanks for any help in advance! The trapeze bridge does not rest on the top, and it seems to me that would add to it's woody warmth & ringing acoustic tone.
One thing that makes me hesitant about adding the Bigsby is wether or not it will change the sound due to it being top mounted. I am considering adding a Bigsby as it would be useful to me, but I also love the 'Lennon look'. I just got a new Epiphone Casino in natural, and love it's sound, playablility, & looks.
